Transportation Rating Engine Carrier Minimum Charges

We have carrier rates configured and they are working properly except I can't figure out how to get minimum charges to be considered for LTL.  If have situations where I get a  discount, say 25%, but if my carrier will charge no less than $100/load.  So if I get a calculated load a cost of $100 discounted 25% my cost coming back as $85.  However, the carrier will never charge me less than $100 so it appears that LTL is a better option than a parcel carrier.

Any suggestion for how I can address the minimum in the rating engine?

    Hi Marc,

Just to confirm: you have defined Minimum charge under Rate base for Rate master used by LTL carrier but it is ignored when discount is applied, correct?

Does it work for other carriers such as TL, Rail, etc?

Correct it the minimum when we use the 'absolute minimum charge' on LTL carriers isn't working. The nature of our business we don't use the engine for any other transportation modes since they are so rare. We have a broker quote TL or other modes if necessary.

I just wonder if it's a limitation with LTL rate engine logic or the same issue exists for all engines (LTL, P2PMileage, Mileage, etc.) Needs to be tested.

    Hi Marc,

In researching, I found the below scheduled for a future release.

    Does this cover your scenario?

This looks exactly like the fix we need.

We did find a workaround by removing the weight brakes for less than 100lbs and setting up a new, undiscounted, carrier to ensure we didn't select the LTL for a shipment that should go parcel. While this isn't accurate or ideal we did find that this was a viable workaround for now.
