RMS 2.0 Manager can't print to local Windows 7 printer

Recently setup RMS 2.0 SP3 on a Windows 7 workstation connected to Windows SBS 2003 domain.  Windows installed the drivers for the USB attached OfficeJet 4300.  All applications except RMS Store Operations Manager can print to the printer.

 When I attempt to print a report, the following message is displayed:

Store Operations Manager - Printer Error

No Printer was found.  Please make sure that you have a printer installed and that it is properly configured before continuing.

I've tried deleting and reinstalling the printer on the workstation.  The printer is listed on the server shared printers list.

Could this be a permissions issue on the workstation?  Where and how to fix?

    Either register or manager computer has similar setup with printer configuration.  Try the same solution as mentioned, but also experiment with different types of drivers for the printer, like PS, PCL5 etc.  If all else fails, print to a pdf writer like cutePDF and see if that works.

     You mentioned not having devices listed in your register, but you need to define the printer and assign it to a receipt format for POS to render the image before it prints.

    Matt, thanks for the reply.

     This is not a register, but a back office computer that only runs SO Manager. (Never POS).

    Since my first post I setup a "register" in the register list with no devices, no printing of receipts etc.  Changed the workstation to that register number.  Still could not print a report with the same error as above.  I also changed the execution of SOMANAGER.exe to Win XP XP3 compatibility mode.  Still no success.

    Make sure to name the printer the same in windows as in SO Manager - Database - Register - Register List - (register) Properties - Receipt Printer - Windows device name.  Mark the Printer Type as Windows, and make the name something without spaces, like just OfficeJet. 

    Select a valid receipt format, test the printing of the template under Database - Register - Receipt Formats - (receipt) Properties - Print.
