The CRM team's testing of RU14 for CRM 2011 Outlook Client was not completed until after the rollup was expired in the SCCM software update repository. So, I cannot advertise the rollup as a software update. The CRM team does not want to install the current rollup 16. The CRM team provided the downloaded rollup they accessed from Microsoft's download site. I tried advertising it as software distribution. I configured the program to run with the /q switch and to install whether or not the user was logged on or off and with administrator rights. The program downloads but fails at the point of running the program. The only way I've been able to get the update to install via sccm is if I configure the program to run with the user logged on and with user rights. The user would then have to be present to click Next on the first splash screen and on the EULA acceptance page. Has anyone installed a CRM rollup as software distribution via sccm? Are there requirements that are peculiar to CRM? Thank you.

I have the same question (0)For anyone else who is using sccm 2007 to install CRM rollups via software distribution, the resolution to this was the switch. When setting up the command line in the package you need to add the switch CRM.PATCH.ARGS="/q". Using the crmupdatewrapper executable file with the /q switch did not work via sccm software distribution.
