Update the "Regarding" record from the activity

Hello

I am trying to find a way to mark an opportunity, once an e-mail or a phone call added to it. Once the user will send the first mail, or a phone call an indication on the opportunity should be updated to "Yes".

I tried to do it on a WF , by accessing the "Regarding(opportunity)" , but the WF is running on each e-mail being sent not only the ones created from opportunity and then it failed since it can't find the record to update.

Any Idea?

    Yes, you do have a condition already; but to make it more specific and stop the workflow running in other scenarios; if you can put it once and try. Atleast try and see if the error is gone or not and then let us know.

    But I do have a condition with "regarding Opportunity" (see my first screenshot) but still it is being called from e-mails added to other entities

    Hi Tali,

    Please follow condition which is shown in screenshot of prashant. It means that if workflow will not get execute is opportunity is not selected in regarding field of email.

    It will not throw an error on any email creation.

    But that is the issue - the workflow execute on all e-mails even if they are not on Opportunity.

    I received the error on e-mails created from other entity , because it keep looking for the "Opportunity" record to update

    Hi Tali

    Workflow will start on all emails but not execute on all emails, hope you understand the difference.

    it will start on all emails because you are triggering the workflow on email creation

    It will execute only on email related to opportunity because you have a condition 'regarding opportunity'

    Small amendment in your condition is required>>check regarding opportunity created by

    Are you manually adding email/phone call to opportunity or do you have any workflow for adding it to opportunity ?
