Current scenario: Butcher buying a whole beef carcass (raw material). For inventory purposes, the carcass comes in and is then disassembled into different beef cuts (fillet, sirloin, rump, ribs etc..) which are the finished products sold.
Under normal circumstances, a Bill of Material would consist of many tiny items making one big item. However in this instance, one big item (carcass) creates many tiny items (fillet, sirloin, rump, ribs etc..).
My question is, what would be the most effective way to manage this scenario in Business Central? Do I bring in the carcass as an item and do a negative adjustment journal on that item and vice versa a positive item adjustment journal for the beef cuts when I know how many kg was produced from the carcass?
Any feedback and better suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!
