Change the number lines on the Statement

ReportReport

Client has a request to remove a lot ( as much as possible ) of the white space off the AR Statement document.

They understand that the lose of the space means that Comments are not available to the report - they are fine with that

They understand that the legend on the bottom of the report comes from no where else - they are fine with that

So I figure all I need to do is shrink the size of the Footer, and we are good to go.

But wait, it can not be that simple - what am I missing.

NOTE

when there are 12 or so lines - all the statement prints on a single page - normal and about 80% of the documents

when there are 30 or more - then we get into a multiple page report, however, with the current configuration we are looking at 5 or 6 pages and a lot of blank space.

QUESTION

So if I simple remove the legeng, move the 'continued' text down the box for the second footer, will that automatically increase the number of lines that are printed in the body of the statement.  In reviewing the document, there are no 'MAX' lines, there does not appear to be a limit on the body.

So - what am I missing.

RE: Change the number lines on the Statement

Leslie, what I finally did was

    Remove the unwanted comment lines

Moved the body of the Footer and Footer 2 up by 14 lines

Added the 14 lines to the Footer - lines in body count - from 26 to 40

    Thanks Leslie for your assistance.

RE: Change the number lines on the Statement

We are using RM Statement on Blank Paper

What I meant by 'blank' lines, I really was talking about White space.

So if I increase the 'records in the report body' from the footer, will this automatically force the footer to revise it size?  Or will I have to reduce the size of the section?

There are 5 Statement Messages Lines that we do not intend to use and the CODES at the bottom of the Footer section are not needed.  So I am wondering if I remove them, will I be able to shrink the footer and increase the line count?

RE: Change the number lines on the Statement

    Hi Bill,

I always recommend putting text at the top and bottom of each section of the report.  For example, I put "PH" and the top and bottom of the page header section, I'd put "F2" at the top and bottom of the F2 section, etc...

This way when the report is printed you should be able to easily identify what section(s) of the report is creating the spaces.

    ============================

Also, is this happening on the default report, or only on your customized version?

    Thanks,

    Justin

RE: Change the number lines on the Statement

    Hi Bill,

Which form are you using? There are no blank lines on mine - I'm printing the Long Form. Also the 'records in the report body' designation is located in the footer. Mine does have a limit of 26. Here's my other sizes, PH-36, RH-60, B-12, F2-48, F1-12, PF-36. What are the sizes of your header and footer - that's what controls the records.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
