Promotion Overlapping Item Discount

Dear

I am using the promotion for an items X on certain customers (for each QTY 10 , you get 1 for Free ), but on the same item X i have discount, and when i am choosing this item X when invoicing , i am get the promotion and discount. when the promotion is there, there should not be a discount.

is there a way to setup that IF there is promotion, to disregard the Discount ?
