Stopping users from deleting Purchase Documents that are in the "Pending Approval" status

Hello, 
 
I want my users to be able to delete /Open/ Purchase Documents, but not /Pending Approval/ ones, is there a way to do it with a permission set?

    open and pending approval are in essence all open documents. I'm not able test directly, but have the impression that it might not be feasible.

    If you use security filters, one disadvantage is that after the users send the approval, they can no longer see the Purchase Document until the approval is completed.
    Personally, I think it would be better to add some small customizations, such as adding a control when deleting. If the status is "Pending Approval", it cannot be deleted.
