When you are creating a template to use, are there certian types you must use for certain categories?

I'm trying to make Word templates for my company to use, and I'm having trouble getting them to print. Are there certian types of templats you must use for Purchasing and Sales categories, or am I just doing it wrong all together? I made a template using SOP Blank Invioce Form, and can print blank Invioces with our logo just fine, but when I try to use something like POP Purchase Order Blank Form to prink a blank pruchase order, it prints an .htm document that looks like some sort of standard template. Can someone please explain how the templates work, and how I can fix this problem?

    Stephen,

Can you detail the process you are using to set-up or make your Word Templates?

With some more information, I'm sure we can get you going in the right direction.

    This is the process.

    >First I make sure I am able to print the report in Template Configuration.

    >Next I got to Template Maintainence.

    >I select the report I want to use in the drop-down bar. In this case I am using *POP Purchase Order Blank Form.

    >I am using the test environment with the Fabrikam company, so I assign the template to be the default template to be used.

    >I only want to test the functionality of the template, so I go back to template configuration and assign a logo to my comapny to be printed on the templates. The logo is in .jpeg form.

    >After all of that I go to Transactions-Purchasing-Purchase Order Entry, and try to print out a blank, standard entry.

    >I am on the menu for it to print and I select the Template option, and tell it to print to my screen.

    >When it shows up it is in .htm form, opened with IE rather than Word, and does not have the logo I have put on there.

Is there some sort of fatal error I am making here?

This is the last bump. I'm probably doing something stupid here, but can one of you please help me out here? This is really frustrating me.

    Hi Stephen,

From what I can tell on your posts, it looks like you are doing everything correctly.

You may want to consider starting a case directly with the Microsoft Support Team to help address this particular issue.

    How do I do that?

This is usually done from the CustomerSource portal:

    www.microsoft.com/.../default.aspx

Permission will need to be granted from whomever has been designated as the administrator.
