How to default the Group By in an editable grid?

(+) Set default Editable Grid Group By - Microsoft Dynamics CRM Forum Community Forum

Is the best topic I could find on the subject but there are no solutions in it. 

This is available as an idea but doesn't have many votes.

Microsoft Idea  · Ability to select a 'Group By' column value by default (dynamics.com)

Has anyone figured out a way to do this?
