Hello,

We are upgrading from FRx to Management Repoter in conjunction with our upgrade to GP2010. In FRx when a user from Company A ran a report, they could see and select only branches on the Reporting Tree related to that company, even though the tree also included a number of other companies. I am being told that to accomplish the same thing in MR it will be necessary to code each branch of the tree with the user ids and/or user groups that will have access to that branch. Is that right? Are there any alternatives? This was not necessary in FRx.

Hi Joe,

If you have FRx security enabled (Admin > Organization > FRx Security), then FRx can be restricted by company. However, without enabling FRx security, the user running the report with a tree for all comapnies could see company A, company B and company C, etc.

In Management Reporter, you can restrict access by company in the Security window for the individual users. So, if user 1 has access only to Company A, you can set this up within the Security to restrict access to Company B and Company C.
