    hi

BC supports item variants. Item variants allow you to create multiple variations of an item, such as different sizes, colors, or styles, while still tracking inventory and sales data for the base item.

To set up item variants, you need to do the following:

Create a base item: This is the item that will be used as the template for the variants. It should have all the common attributes of the variants, such as the name, description, and unit of measure.

Create a variant item: This is the item that represents the specific variant, such as a red shirt in size small. You can create a new item card for each variant or use the "Copy Item" function to copy the base item and make changes to create the variant.

Set up item attributes: Item attributes define the variations of the item, such as size, color, or style. You can set up attributes on the "Item Attributes" page in Business Central.

Create item variants: You can create item variants by using the "Create Variants" function on the base item card. This will create a new item card for each combination of attributes.

Once you have set up the item variants, you can track inventory and sales data for each variant separately, while still keeping the base item as the common reference. This allows you to simplify your inventory management and make it easier to track and analyze sales data.
