Customer Insights - Journeys, Twillio sending duplicates

We have added Twillio as our SMS sender into our D365 Customer Insights - Journeys system. 
 
Now the issue is that we are using a model that essentially create's duplicate enquiries for a single segment which is fine for email as it dedupes on send. However for Twillio using the same segment means that the duplicates are sent (posted) so we  are having to merge them manually after the send has gone to try and cut them down.
 
We can't do the segment at contact level as there would need to be a double jump link to pull the segment criteria correctly. 
 
So my main question?... Is there any way using the logic in segments to dedupe the mobile number field or any other possible solution that would dedupe the segment before sending over to Twillio?
