One of our clients was asking the following
Our senior managers often use their iPhones to approve GP workflows. The process is not very user-friendly. They must log in to the Outlook app to approve vs just using the iPhone email, then once clicked on the link in the email they are prompted to log into GP, and also they have to use the Authenticator just to get to the approval screen. Can the Outlook app be avoided? Is it possible to automate the link that prompts to log into GP to just go to the approval screen after using the Authenticator? Any other thoughts on how to make the process easier are much appreciated.
Thanks Justin - I appreciate the feed back
Hello Steven,
I know you opened a case and we provided this link:
This basically outlines that the Outlook app is basically required for email approvals.
As for the login issues, that would come down to where the logins are required. You should be able to open the Outlook App and not login after it is setup correctly. Then you can click the link and that will open a browser window (Safari by default). Since phones generally are not on a domain, there is no way for Safari to forward a login automatically to GP Web Services. This is why users will always need to login to the Web Services site. Since it sounds like the domain login is tied to Microsoft Accounts, and they likely have MFA, then this login will require MFA as well.
There may be ways to have the browser window that opens automatically out of Outlook to keep the same login as Outlook, but this is outside of what we usually look at.
Perhaps someone here has seen a way to do that.
