Hey all,

is there a way to add a company to a segment?

We have used subscription list for this in the past (CRM 2013 on prem with additional third party add-in), but for automated mailings as far as I know we need to use segments now. These can only be filled with contacts.

Or is the a way to in bulk create one contact per company?

Hi,

The resulting entity of a segment can be Contact only.(Ref: The differences between segments and lists (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs)

Creating one contact per company is a wise choice.

It can be done with workflow.

There is a lookup field in Account entity called Primary Contact.

The workflow can be set as the following way:

1. Create an on-demand workflow targeting at Account entity.

2. Add a step to create a contact. Set the name/email of the account as the name/email of the contact.

3. Add a step to update the account. Set the contact created in step 2 as the primary contact of the account.

4. Save and activate the workflow. Then it can be found in the following location. You can select multi account and run the workflow for them to create the contacts for them.
