Product 0 does not support upgrading to version 10.00.1328

I am trying to upgrade from version 10.00.1727 to version 11.00.1708 but keep getting the above error (along with a few other products)  I first tried to update from 10.00.1701 to 11.00.1677 per the upgrade path provided from GP but received the same error on the same modules.  At that point it said "from version 10.00.1701" which was the correct version.  I decided to apply another version 10 service pack (to .1727) and try again but with ver 11.00.1708, now when I try to run utilities it is saying it can't upgrade from version 10.00.1328.  The version number went down and isn't even on the upgrade path list.

I previously tried (in test environment) to put the latest 10 and 11 sp and still got this error.

I have removed products 5597 and 6499 from the list before running utilities and will add back 6499 after utilities runs and before launching GP (I had this issue when applying the vers 10 sp).

This is so incredibly frustrating.  I have done several upgrades using the same programs and have had no problems at all-this one just refuses to go.  We are on Windows 7, and SQL 2008 Express (as were the other updates I've done).  I am using the download MDGP2010_RTM_Release from 2010-as I've used with all the upgrades I've done.

We are moving to a new server, but version 10 is running just fine so I don't see that as an issue.

As so many others, I have spent hours researching this and feel like I've tried every 'trick' I have found.  Can anyone help me?

I figured it out.  The reason the version number went down is because I inadvertantly attached a company database that was out of date-even though DYNAMICS and the company I was working with were the correct version this 2nd company was not.

Prior to attaching that company I was still getting the cannot ascertain error, and it was using the correct version-so I also used MDGP2010R2_DVD instead of the first release.  This seemed to get rid of that error.  I removed the 6499 from the .set files for utilities then readded it to launch GP.

    Thanks for your help.

Did you install 'MicrosoftDynamicsGP-KB2682498-v10-ENU.exe' ? On GP 10? Please make sure you keep good backup of your working GP Dynamics And Production Comapany DB.

    Thanks

Thank you Sandip but this is what I did.  There is an additional patch for GP10?  I don't see this.  GP10 has already had the patch applied to bring it to .1727, I then installed GP2010 and applied the correct patch per the above link and I continue to get this error.  Do I need to do something else to GP10?

    Hi,

Please follow Dynamics GP Update Path. Here is link : mbs.microsoft.com/.../hottopic_mdgp2010_update.htm to GP 2010

    Check for following column

10.00.1727 (2011 US Payroll Round 4 Tax Update KB 2502038)

Download Patch for GP10 and Gp 2010 , Install it on First GP10 -- Upgrade to GP 2010 and install patch of GP 2010 and let see how it goes.

    Good Luck buddy!!!

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks

    Sandip
