Unit testing query

Hi Friends,

We have a report having performance issue, the query behind the report is likely the culprit.

Is there a good approach to test the query alone without running report? in other words, if we can dissect the query into sort of native sql statement to test, that would be ideal.

Many thanks,

River

Sure, you can either execute the AX query outside the report or take the actual T-SQL query sent to database and analyze it.

    Hi Martin,

How can I get the T-SQL query from query object in AOT?

    Thanks,

You can use Trace Parser or various options of SQL Server, such as Query Store, Extended Events or SQL profiler.
