Opportunities: Actual Revenue field when closing as lost since 2016 upgrade

Hello,

Prior to upgrading to 2016 (we're online) the actual revenue field for Opportunities only displayed and prefilled based on the est. premium when we were closing an Opportunity as Won, not as Lost, since in that case there would be no revenue.

Now since upgrading to 2016 when we close an Opportunity as lost it auto fills the actual revenue with the est. premium. You can't delete the value in the field since it's a mandatory field, the user is forced to enter 0, if they remember.

Is there a way to prevent this and return to the original functionality before the upgrade for this particular scenario?

Thank you,

Brianna

I can't see how business rules will work in this instance as you are closing the Opportunity. JavaScript seems to be the only solution.

    HI ,

You might need to set the value as 0 using business rules or javascript if the Opportunity is closed as lost .

    Thanks!

Hi Brianna, I'm sorry but I can't see why your field is populating automatically when your field default value is set to User Provided(as you can see in the field description it shouldn't)? Unless you have some JavaScript that changes the value for that field.

    Hi Bobby,

Thank you for clarifying, I was looking at the Actual Revenue field, not the Revenue field.
I have checked and it is set to User Provided. Do you have any other suggestions?

or just search for a field with the Schema Name IsRevenueSystemCalculated just in case you have amended the Display Name

Brianna, please open the fields section for the Opportunity entity then look for a field called Revenue(schema name IsRevenueSystemCalculated) open it and double check if the default value is User Provided. If not, change it to it. This will default your Actual Revenue field to zero when closing the opportunity.

    I hope this helps

    Hi Bobby,

Our Actual Revenue field is the Actual Value field renamed. There isn't an option to change it to User Provided from what I can see. Is this an option in 2016?

    Hi Brianna,

I would change the option in the Revenue field from Opportunity entity to User Provided. This will default the Actual Revenue field to zero.
