I'm using CRM Online Version 1612 (8.2.1.185)
I'm trying to change properties for selected column in my Advanced Find, and I got this message.
"An error has occurred. Please return to the home page and try again."
It shows only when I try to change column properties in Advanced Find. I cannot find what cause this error. Although I still can save the changes, but I need to remove this message. Do you have any advice?

I experienced the same issue of getting "An error has occurred. Please return to the home page and try again" when changing properties of a column in advanced find.
The issue occured with on-premises version Update 2.1 (8.2.1.176). Recycling the app pool in IIS did not change anything for me.
After updating to Update 2.2 (8.2.2.112) the issue disappeared, even though I cannot find any mention of this in the update notes.
I had the same issue at Dynamics 365 On Premise.
I stopped and then started the CRM App Pool Under IIS, and now don't see error messages anymore when editing columns properties on a view. I also have set the CRM App Pool Start Mode to "Always Running", by default it was set to "On demand".

Hi Tommy,
It is the problem with the Javascript function applyChanges() in ColumnProperties.aspx page when debugged via Developer tools. It is a Microsoft bug.
Having the same issues for all the 3 different browsers.

Yes, in my CRM, the column is also changed successfully after clicked on OK. But this message just showed from nowhere. I need to remove this popup as requested by the user. Any advice?
I have tried restart the browser and add the URL to trusted site. The error message still showing up.

Even if this error occurs in Change Column Properties, it is changing the width of the column for me when clicked on OK.
This is weird.
How about restarting the browser? Adding the URL to trusted site? (so that there is no restriction in executing the scripts)
