Display productid in Word quote doc

I added productid from the quote_details section to my Word template, but it displays the productidname instead when I use the template from within CRM. How do I get the actual productid in the quote doc?

I would try adding "productnumber"

I have made a template with ALL fields from a quote and most related standard entities. It is a huge grid of all the fields. I use it to merge/make a document with all the fields and then make a document from quote entity where all fields that the customer needs are filled out. Then I use it for reference when making the actual quote template.

Was it productid or productidname, they wanted here??? Which field is it I need for description for a Write-in product??? Which of the many description fields is it that goes here??? and so on.

It is a work in progress - I add more fields if needed. I can send you a copy if you wish.

Oh, and the field for productid is productdescription for Write-In products and productname for Existing Products.

Thanks, but I don't see productnumber in the list of fields in the XML mapping pane. Is there a way to add it?

Sorry, Frank and Marianne; I haven't used this forum much and can't seem to get it to work well - my previous replies were intended to be to individual posts - just like this one - but they appear as general replies...

Marianne, I don't see productname in the XML mapping pane under quote_details - I have productidname but it displays the name, not the id. I must be missing a basic step here! :-)

Marianne, thanks for sending the template; it does help me understand better. But there are still some basic things I don't understand. For example, the quote accountid fields don't get data, even though I have the Potential Customer field set on the quote. With your template I do get customeridname data in OPPORTUNITY_QUOTES - but how do I get the opportunity_quotes entity available in my small template?

Choose the 1:N relationship from quote to opportunity when you set up the template.
