Hi All,

We have paused service update 10.0.31 into all the environments.

Now wanted to apply service update 10.0.31 into DEV and test all the possible business processes.

Question is, if some issue occured in Production and wanted to debug the code into DEV, here the version will not be the same, so can we re-apply the service update 10.0.30 into DEV?

Please advice.

Regards,

Akbar

    Hi Akbar,

You absolutely can make a backup of 10.0.30 in DEV that you will then use to restore after testing 10.0.31.

    Hi Akbarpasha,

The issue encountered, is it from Microsoft standard process or a customization?

If is it customization, the best is to have your Dev and Test on same version. Restore the test database to DEV and debug the issue.

And to answer directly to your question, No. you can not roll back or reapply a previous version, but you can redeploy the environment.

    Hi Akbarpasha,

You can create a second development environment for debugging purposes that you can maintain on the same version as the production environment. When you only start this VM when you need it for debugging or updating the application version, the cost is limited. You pay then only for the storage and the few number of computing hours.

Hi, As mentioned in above comments you can create another Dev environment. For cost of the Dev VM, you can check in this Azure pricing calculator azure.microsoft.com/.../

Select Virtual Machine in this link and try changing instance or you can check the size of current dev VM from Azure portal.
