Upgrade CRM 2011 to 2013

Hi,

We are currently on Rollup 17 of CRM 2011 and I am trying to import a copy of the 2011 database into a 2013 Server to upgrade to 2013 and I am still getting this non-sense about not being on the right rollup.  We had to to fix a ton of javascript and other weird issues after going to rollup 17 I dont want to uninstall it in production and roll back to 14.  Surely Microsoft is not so stupid to not allow me to update from Rollup 17.

Error

This organization can't be upgraded. You can only upgrade organizations that have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 6 (5.0.9690.1992) or at least CRM 2011 Update Rollup 14 (5.0.9690.3557). Organizations that have a version that is later than the current version of the product, or a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 update rollup earlier than version 6 or Update Rollups 7 through 13, aren't supported for upgrade.

Alright, I think I am on to something.  When I do a version of the CRM, I get the following screen shot.  It looks like the DB was never upgraded for some reason... The DB is on rollup 11, while the front end is on rollup 17.  Not sure how that happens, but what do you recommend to fix this?

    Hi,

I have the same problem but I have the Rollup 18.

I need to upgrade to CRM 2013 too and I can't because I receive the error "This organization can't be upgraded. You can only upgrade organizations that have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 6 (5.0.9690.1992) or at least CRM 2011 Update Rollup 14 (5.0.9690.3557). CRM 2011 5.0.9690.4376

    DB 5.0.9690.2243

    Any idea?

    Regards.

Could you please try installing same Update rollup 17 for Reporting Extension(i.e.DB) , It may resolve this error.

    Hi Paul & SaraGonc,

Thanks for using the CRM forums.

I know the original thread was created a while ago but I am adding my suggestions, I case some one else is facing the same issue.

I agree with you that the issue is due to the version of the organization database.

Currently, CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 upgrades are supported with CRM 2011 UR 6 and with CRM 2011 UR 14 or later.
As your organizations database is on the UR 11 (Paul) & UR 8(SaraGonc) the upgrade is failing. The best way here would be to understand why the installation of update roll ups have failed. If you can get your Organization DB to latest updates and try again, I think you will succeed to upgrade your organization.

    Following are my recommendation:

-Please look into your Update Roll up installation log files, your would see an error message stating the reason why the database update was skipped.
(Mostly you can find the log files at C:\Users\<LoginName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\<Name of the log KB2739504 or KB2600644>)

Please post that error message, that will help us get to the bottom of the issue.
