Error with Trial version - db connection

I downloaded the trial version and created a new db with no errors. I created my sample/test db with no errors. I did receive a 30 day evaluation activation code. The problem is when i open the Store Operations Manager or Store Operations POS, I get an error message "Cannot connect to the database"

Any ideas how to fix this?

Found my error.

I entered my customer db name in the admin tool under configuration and entered the trial licence key et voila.....

Yes I did. I created a database called PCHtest and in the Admin I can connect and all options for that database under "Database" are enabled like backup, change password, etc...

I get the error message as soon as I click on the Store Operations Manager or Store Operations POS, the message pops up right away.

On top of this, I cannot enter the activation key that I received for the trial period.

Did you try going into Admin again and connecting to the named DB you created?
