Is Microsoft Dynamics RMSv2.0.2014 compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2 server?

Hi all,

We have a new client installation, and the client will be running Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 but also Microsoft Dynamics RMS v2.0 with the latest hotfix (i.e. RMSv2.0.2014 (i.e. Hotfix #52 – KB3031731)). On the latest System Requirements for Dynamics RMS (updated March 2015) Windows Server 2012 R2 is not listed as a supported Operating System. It looks like the hardware that the client will be ordering will have this version pre-installed. Could you confirm whether Dynamics RMS can be run on this OS version please?

    Microsoft Dynamics RMS v2.0 CU5 (latest Hotfix) is compatible with Server 2012R2. Although the latest System Requirements does not list Server 2012R2, it is in fact compatible.

    We are getting ready to upgrade to RMS 2.0 CU5 and I have configured and tested a 2012R2 server to host the application and there are no issues. I believe Dynamics RMS 2.0 CU5 is also compatible with SQL Server 2012 and 2014.

    latest version works with server 2012.  It just not official.

    Hi Ed Boyer,

    My concern is whether the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 is compatible with the latest hotfix of the Microsoft Dynamics RMS 2.0. The Windows Server 2012 is already listed in last March 2015 System Requirements document, however the Windows Server 2012 R2 is not listed.

    I would like to know a concrete answer from Microsoft as the client would like to purchase the licenses.

    Thank you for your question.

    While it is not yet published, we have tested RMS 2.0 CU5 and later with Windows Server 2012 R2, and they are compatible.

    will work, but try exporting new store database and check if all items exists.

    if OK, go with it.

    important note, you can upgrade your database to 2012 but can not downgrade after that.
