Can't connect to CRM Online - Credentials invalid

Hi,

I am trying to configure the Dynamics CRM plugin on my PC and configure it to access an online instance (2013). I am getting an error indicating that I don't have the Microsoft Online Services Assistant installed, which I do.

I am running Windows 8.1 (64bit), Outlook 2013 (32 bit) and trying to access an online instance at crm4.dynamics.com.

I've tried reinstalling the Sign in assistant (by using the url that appears in the error log : http://g.microsoftonline.com/0BX00en/501) but it indicates that a newer version is already installed.

I am accessing the internet through a direct connection (no firewalls or proxies) and I still get this error.

Can someone please help me figure out what I need to do.

Thanks,

Paulo

    Hi Paulo, good morning

My name is Andrés Guzmán, Is a pleasure to help you.

Unfortunately Windows 8.1 is not completely supported to use CRM for Outlook.

This is the Compatibility List with the Applications that are supported and the Windows 8.1 is not listed: support.microsoft.com/.../en-us

I hope this info can help you.

    Have a great day

    Hi Andres,

Unfortunately the page you indicated is not very clear on compatibility. If you look at the CRM 2013 compatibility list, no Windows versions other than Server are compatible.

I also find this strange since the Dynamics App that was launched, runs on Windows 8 :)

Any other suggestions about what I might do to enable this? This is extremely important since my company will be rolling out the 8.1 image very soon and our SFA is this specific Online Instance I am trying to connect to.

    Thank you,

    Paulo

Can you give this a try:

Open Explorer (browser) use Bing homepage to log out of Windows 8 Live ID sign in (if different to your MS Dynamics CRM Windows Live ID sign in). Delete browser history, cache etc. (i.e. select all & delete). If you have MS Dynamics Outlook Client 2011 installed use Control Panel to uninstall this version.

Next download MS Dynamics CRM Outlook client 2013 click here and install. After installation reboot.

    Hi Paulo,

I assume you downloaded and installed the 32-bit Version of Dynamics CRM for Outlook? Version has to match the Office installation, not the OS.

To troubleshoot whether this issue is related to your organization or your user/PC, you could set up a free Dynamics CRM Online trial here: www.microsoft.com/.../crm-free-trial-overview.aspx

Try linking this new CRM organization to your Outlook client the same way you did with your current one.

If you have successfully set up your existing organization in the "Configure CRM for Outlook"-tab in Outlook, you will need to add this new organization by closing the Outlook client and running the Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.ConfigWizard application, by default located here: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Client\ConfigWizard

If you succeed in connecting to the newly created demo instance, the problem is most likely not on your side, but rather the organization or the ADFS setup.

    Good luck!

    Regards,

    Rasmus

    Hello,

As per the Implementation guide for CRM 2013 (www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx), "Windows 8.1 has not been tested and isn’t fully supported with this release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013." This should be officially declared as supported maybe in the coming Rollup updates for CRM 2013.

    Thank you,
