has anyone got this feature up and running in their system yet? i ask as we have a customisation done that is 90% on the surface the same as this 3 years ago We had to as out previous system allowed this so all labour and processess from production onwards relied on this to be enabled in D365. the trouble was it involved another development around order reservations to make it work.
Some histort if of interest. This addtional development was largely because until the order is shipped, with our transfer order customosidation to create on the app, the stock is only reserved at warehouse level, as standard. In other words no warehouse work was created to reserved at location level UNTIL you try to ship. so this allowed stock to be reserved at warehouse level that was actually being selected for a transfer order. then when you came to shipping it errored as some stock scanned to the transfer was now reserved to sales order etc... thus the additonal development with a bespoke sales order reservation screen, that didnt consider certain locations that stock required for transfers is held. And such a big development ended up failing in testing, so we ended up having to use standard transfer orders, transfer order issue work etc. at a large cost in manpower. our partners even tried to do some development on stock statuses that failed as well.
So i am interested to know in short with this new feature ultimately does using this process make sure the stock at location and transfer order level is fully reserved and therefore not allowed to be considered for other orders reservation particualrly sales order. some general question additiona to this are:
1. when the worker selects a LP on the mobile device does it reserve the stock at location level like it would with standard work creation in WAX?
2. does the stock also get reserved on the transfer order line as per my parameters to auto reserve on transfer order lines?
3. Does it block workers from moving stock that is fully reserved to other work etc. as normal set up would?
4. do you have to set up specific new location directives, work templates tht differ from those under work order type "transfer issue" already set?
5.does anyone have any videos links or screen shots of this working anywhere to point out practically, as this would be useful as i am a now system person and more practical?
