Hi all
I have an issue with a user. They can not create an hour journal in Project Management and Accounting. The errors say the user does not have access. I have looked and the assigned user role and the user is allocated the Project accountant role which says it has access to create. BUt the user can not create a journal. where and how do i grant this role access to allow the user to be able to create the journal.

Have you assigned the user another role with more rights only to test whether the role assignment is the problem?
Do you have any other security measures in place (XDS, other adjustments, journal setup restrictions, etc.) that would restrict the user from seeing the journal?

Yes, I have but to no avail. I tested all the roles that were created by the design team but none seem to give me access. So I then granted system admin rights and she is able to create an hour journal, be we know what that is. How do I assign access? I have checked the pages security diagnostics and it has the role of Project accountant listed. but the user can still not create a journal
Can you share a screenshot with the hour journal and the exact error message? As this user is able to see the menu item, it might be related to e.g. some table override permissions on the role or eXtensible Data Security or access to a certain duty/privilege. To know the where to search first, I would like to see the exact error message.

i thought the same thing, but when I checked, the user has the correct access, but I think the role may in fact not have access to the correct setting. I'm lost to try to find out where this is sitting
Does the user have the privilege to maintain hour journals assigned?
In addition, have you checked that the hour journal is not restricted / private for a specific user group?
According to the last admin, he set up the role and the users with permissions to access and capture the hour journal. but I have checked all the roles and still, I can not find the location to grant permission to this function. im not sure where to find this tag
