    This is definitively the last piece of the puzzle as suggested by IAmPilot. Thank you! Now  I can see the custom Entity in the "Regarding" in the Outlook CRM pane. It would be interesting finding this step is actually  THE ONLY one required.

    The link to the documentation exists in the new screen created by MS, where you set CRM Dynamics App For Outlook for the existing mailboxes. MS must organize somehow the documentation structure, it is all over the page.

    Thanks for all of the info. I have two questions relating to this.

    1. How do you control the order of the entities that appear in the list when you are tracking? They were alphabetical until i added the custom entity of Goals/Targets, now it falls between Opportunities & Pursuits. Not sure why?

    2. How do you control what is show when you expand the record - to help the user further identify which record to choose. I am thinking it is the "card" form, but I cant find a card form for Opportunities. If there is not once, then I am not sure how to do this as very little information is displayed for opportunities.

    thank you for your help!

    As an update on our 8.2 on-prem version of this issue - the second entity I added eventually showed up.  Same as the first - I didn't make any additional changes.  But it wasn't showing up after 3 days.  So somewhere between 3 and 10 days to just start working...  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    RE: Dynamics CRM 365 App: Track Custom Entities

    Thanks for instructions Aliona  ... but see below - I don't get the option to edit the "Dynamics 365 App for Outlook" app in the app designer. If I click on the three small dots, the "open in app designer" option is not there (it's available on the other apps) and if I double click on the app below it takes me to the "Settings/Dynamics 365 App for Outlook" area in the site map.

    Any clue on why I can't edit the App in the app designer? (CRM Online 9.0.2.758, logged in as System Administrator).

    RE: Dynamics CRM 365 App: Track Custom Entities

    I have MS Dynamics 365 v 9.0 and you can find steps that helped me to track my custom entity:

    1. Go to Settings - Customizations – Apps - Dynamics 365 App for Outlook – add your custom entity – Publish;1425.Screenshot_5F00_1.png
    2. Make sure that "enable for mobile" is flagged on the custom entity;
    3. I added quick creation and quick view forms on my custom entity;
    4. The custom entity is added to the relevance search;
    5. Enabled activities for the entity;
    6. Publish all customizations;
    7. Wait for 15 minutes for Relevance search to index your search data.

    For the moment MS announced that the App can search only by ‘name’ field even if you enabled more fields in Quick find view.

    Not sure about others on this thread, but we're on on-prem 8.2.2, so we don't have any of that.

    RE: Dynamics CRM 365 App: Track Custom Entities

    I just got off the phone with Microsoft on a support case, and in our case, beginning with Dynamics 365 Online version 9.0.2.761, access to the entities for set regarding is now done through the app designer.

    If you are a system administrator or a customizer, you can choose to expose only the required set of entities to be available to Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.You can do this through App Modules.

    With the PowerApps App Designer, you can control the specific entities that appear in Dynamics 365 App for Outlook’s Quick Create menu and the Regarding lookup. This helps you get to the record you are looking for faster and also modularize business logic by exposing only the relevant entities for your users in Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.

    1.From the main menu navigate to Settings > Customizations > Apps.

    2.Double-click Dynamics 365 App for Outlook to open the App Designer

    3.Choose Add > Entities and then select the entity you want to add and complete the addition by including all assets.

    4.Review the list of Views that are available for the entity and deselect the ones you do not want to be available in Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. In Dynamics 365 App for Outlook Regarding lookup, you can filter results based on an entity and further, on one of the views defined for that entity.

    5.Save your changes and publish the customization.
