My dialog runs fine to collect data and set data for a new entity i'm creating/updating.
But I can find no way to set an entities option set values - what am i missing?
As tedious as it is, I can recreate the option sets with the same values when doing the prompt and response part; but even the i don't see how to use these values to set the actual entity option set values.

I think that's the way forward, managing option set contents through solution releases is not always the best approach for changeable data as well.
It seems sometime MS Dynamics offers you enticing basic functionality only to snooker you later when you try and use it in anything but basic modes. Building your own entity stacks often seems the better way forward.

Good Day Jack, I do not have the exact answer you would like. I had the same issue and I opted to creating a new entity to house all the options. Its a bit more work but works smoothly afterwards and in a way its future-proof . Hope this alternative helps :)
Any updates on this problem? We have version 8.2.1.176 on prem and have this problem. The replies marked as "Answer" are not answers.
Thanks Ryan. Yes option set pick list to Option set pick list - not Radio field.
I'm sure your answer above is correct.
I think out environment has a bug as i can't set the drop down field - it may be related to this type of issue crmtipoftheday.com/.../how-to-set-an-optionset-value-in-the-workflow though we are on prem, not online.
I also note that valuable dialog's may be deprecated and replaced with Business Process Flows - crmtipoftheday.com/.../deprecated-dialogs
Though these are quite unsuitable for uses such as we need at present.
Many thanks for your help anyway - i'll raise a case on why we can't use dialogs today as i still think them useful.

Are you trying to map to an option set or two-option field? And do the values match your optionset values exactly? Normally the system will set your values to a 9 digit number, rather than a single digit

I have the Pick list item created here
I move on to the Update entity step, open the form an try and click on the field, it just does not select
I can though select a text field on that form and put the data in it - so it as available
But as said - when clicking on the picklist field the form assistant will not offer values
Its got to be a bug somewhere.

I just edited my dialog and changed it from Radio Buttons to a Pick List and it's still working fine for me.
At what point is your dialog not working? I.e. is it not letting you select Response Option Set Value for the dynamic value? Or is it not updating the option set when you complete the dialog?
Hi Ryan, Many thanks iv'e checked your response a few times now and it all seems right in the early stages - I'm sure its the answer for Setting Radio buttons as if i set these it works fine.
However when I try to do the same for the Pick list- the form fails to behave and won't let me select it an a way that allows me to apply the Set to operator integer value etc. Ive tried it on Chrome, IE and Edge.
Did it work for you on picklists as well as radio buttons?
