Dynamics for Outlook: A user gets task reminders for tasks owned by another user

Hi community!

We observe a very strange issue concerning the DY 365 <> Outlook integration.

A new Office 365 user 'A' was created shortly (DY 365, MS Exchange, Office.)
We used our standard security role scheme and setup.

1) Now the user 'A' keeps getting dynamics tasks reminders in outlook for tasks that are assigned to
other users B,C,D.

2) Inside the Dynamics activity feed some of such tasks are strangely tagged with "updated by 'A' "

I have not a slightest idea what a possible reason could be. Maybe you have any hints?

Thank you

Alex

Setup:

DY 365 Version 1710 (9.1.0.15635) online
MS Exchange
Outlook Desktop
Dynamics App for Outlook

    Hello Alex,

Thanks for reaching out to community forum for Dynamics. Please check the Synchronization method for Appointment contacts and tasks in users mailbox, i assume it to be Server Side Synchronization. If its yes, then the task in Dynamics would have synched to users mailbox is Exchange. To validate that please check the sync filters in personal options for user profile.

Click on gear icon on the top left corner and the personal options. I new windows will appear here click on synchronization Tab, click on My Tasks.

Here the filter will show which records will synchronize to Exchange. Do the same advanced find query and you should get tasks which are synched over. Also i suspect due to task synching in Exchange its possibility it would have been in users mobile (If mailbox is synched to Mobile device)

Please refer for more details : docs.microsoft.com/.../choose-records-synchronize-exchange

    Sincerely,

    Arshad
