How to prevent zero sale amount

Posted on by 325

I have some non inventory items which require the price to be entered. The cashiers keep inadvertently cancelling the box to enter the price and then tender the amount. That results in a sale of zero because the amount tendered is the same as the change given.  This causes the till to be out at the end of the day.

I have the cashier properties set so that Allowed to post Empty Transactions is not ticked. I have also tried setting a small amount in the Lower Bound in Item properties which is supposed to give an alert if the sale price is below the amount set in Lower Bound but that doesn't work either as no alert happens.

Is there any other way of preventing sales with a zero value.

If no one has an answer to preventing zero sales, can anyone advise how to make sure an amount entered in Lower Bound will give an alert?
