Create workflow to route emails sent by managers through another CRM email enabled account

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Here is my issue:  Our management team is not connected to server side synchronization in CRM. However, we do have automated emails that get generated when approvals/denials are made by management. Currently, these emails are not being sent from CRM because there isn't a router connected to these accounts.  We do not want to connect server side synchronization like the other CRM Users because there are confidential emails that we do not want displayed in CRM environment.

Here is what I want to do:  I want to create a workflow that gets triggered when the approval/denial emails are generated through CRM by the specific manager. Then I want the email to be routed to another CRM user server side sync account (service account) to send out the notification to the recipient.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. As always thanks in advance.

Thanks Ravi, I haven't tried implementing your suggestion yet. I found in the create email workflow that if I put the new email router email in the from field, it will still send out the email with the information we need from the  connected service account to the requestor and manager.

If it proves not to work in Production, I will implement your solution.

    Once again, thanks.

    Hi,

You can create a workflow which will be triggered on the create of email. Within the worlfow, -

    1. You check if the from is one of the manager for which you need the functionality

    2. You can change the status of this email to cancel [this is optional]

    3. Create/ Send new email. Within the properties, you capy the details from this email.

    Refer the below screenshots-
