I would like to customize the roles for each person. I want to hide certain things for roles and hide all of the manufacturing things for everyone. I have tried the personalization tool already, and it didn't work. If anyone knows how to fix this, please answer!! Thank you.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

I would recommend creating person-specific roles and customise from there
    • Search for Profile (Roles) > Either Copy an Existing One or Create New
    • Select Customise Pages and Modify according to your requirements
    • Select Disable Personalisation
This way you control centrally each user profile.
I would then create bespoke permission sets to block access to different areas of the system.
    • Search for Permission Sets > Create New
    • Under Permission Sets > Include any existing permission set that contains most activity the user should perform
    • Under Permissions > Exclude any table data that you do not want the user to access (i.e., manufaturing related tables)
I would then assign to the user
    1. The newly created role – Search for User Settings > Select the User > Assign the role
    2. The newly created permission set > Search for Users > Under Permission Sets, assign the new permission set.

    Hope this might be helpful:

To customize roles by hiding specific functionalities and entire modules like Manufacturing, personalization is insufficient as it doesn't enforce security.

You will need assistance from a Microsoft Partner to:

    • Create custom Permission Sets to strictly control access to specific pages, actions, and data.

    • Develop Custom Role Center Pages (via AL extension) to hide navigation links and streamline the interface for each role.

    •

    Hello,

Do you mean hide the Role for a certain user? or assign a role to someone?

    I hope I can help.

    Regards,

Hi, You can use the following function to exclude some permissions. This is the simplest.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Permission Exclusion (Exclude in Permission Set)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
