Error Message: qty. per unit of measure must have a value in requisition line worksheet

Qty.Per-Unit-must-have-a-value.PNG

Hi,

I got this error in NAV 2013. Does anyone know how to solve it?

I read an article: "Qty. per Unit of Measure must not be 0 in Requisition Line Worksheet" error message when you run the Calculate Subcontract function in Microsoft Dynamics NAV

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2423251

But it says that the error occurs in NAV 2009 and earlier version. I use NAV 2013.

Thank you!

    Hi Allen,

Essentially this is saying that there is a record in the Lines section that is missing a value. The field that has the value missing is the 'Qty per Unit of Measure' field. The error says this is happening at line 70000 (which is like the 7th line down).

If you can locate this exact line number in your form then you can determine the Item number that has the problem so you know which Item is missing it's value. If 'Qty per Unit of Measure' is a hidden field on this form then you should be able to see it by going to Help => About This Page => Table Fields; this shows all the fields behind the form and their values so you'll be able to verify this field is blank. Figure out which Item# it is and check the Item card to make sure the 'Purch Unit of Measure' field is set for that Item number.

Agree with Alex. If you have filled in the Purch. Unit of Measure field on the item card and entered a quantity for the current item in the Qty. per Unit of Measure field, the program automatically fills in this field when you enter the item number on the line. Check what is the value there.

    Thank you! Alex.

I find the  'Qty per Unit of Measure' is in SourceTable Requisition Line (246).

This error happened on Subcontractor Worksheet, and I find the Item, but how can I see the 'Qty per Unit of Measure' field from the interface.

The Purch. Unit of Measure field on the item card is filled. Where can I see the Qty. per Unit of Measure Field.

For the needed line, check the table fields - open the About Page properties:req2.png

Then expand it to the list of the fields:

Check the field Qty. per Unit of Measure, is it filled with value?

Thank you!  I notice that there are two fields calledn Qty. per Unit of Measure

Qty. per Unit of Measure (5404)

    Qty. per UOM (Demand) (5541)

Which one should I use?  Thank you so much!

    Hi Allen,

Look at the 'Qty per Unit of Measure' field (5404)... (from the Subcontracting Worksheet by going to Help => About This Page => Table Fields) and verify that this field is blank? Since this field is a hidden field that means the value is either brought in from another setup page or the value gets calculated based on certain fields.

If this field is blank then you'll need to backtrack and make sure you are providing this form with all the necessary values by checking your Item card setup. Check that the Item number related to the error has all necessary fields set on the Item card.

From the Item card for the relevant Item number, you have to drill down on the Purchase Unit of Measure and click Advanced, then make sure the fields are filled out (see screen shots below):

    From Item Card:

Drill Into Item Units of Measure:
