CRM changes the currency Euro to British Pounds?

Hi everyone,

We have 4 currencies in our CRM: EUR, GBP, CHF and $. Lately, our CRM likes to change the currency code and symbol of EUR to that of GBP.

Why is that?

I know I can change it back using the Busines Managements setting,s but CRm changes this right back! Why?

How can I prevent this from happening?

did you check also the preference of the currency of your users? is inside their personal options settings.

Just to follow up Guido's reply, its worth noting how are you creating the associated records? If you are creating from within the context of an account record it could be that the default currency for an account is set to "GBP". This will override the users personal settings.

Hi Guido, hi Anthony,

I checked the personal default settings: this is euro.

However, the problem is, that CRM changes the existing currency.

* ORIGINAL: euro - EUR - e

* CHANGE BY CRM: gbp - EUR - £

--> CRM changes the currency name and the symbol of currency record.

And if I change it back to the way it is supposed to be, CRM just changes it back again.

To clarify at what point is CRM changing the currency? When you open the record? On Save of the record? on change of the currency field?

Hi Antony,

No idea when CRM changes the currency exactly.

I changed it back again around noon and it still okay today.

and FYI: we have some British colleagues and they use GBP as default off course. But this shouldn't affect the others users, should it?

Hi Anneke,

it sounds like there is a task which update via sdk the main currency.

I think so because when CRM deals with currencies there is almost always a scheduled task which update exchange rates: maybe in this case this task update the currency too.

Please verify this point.

Hi all,

I can't find any process or task concerning currencies. the Processes or tasks concerning OPPTY don't have anything to do with the currency either.

So I'm not sure were to look.
