MSCRM 2011 Emailrouter flooding the IIS-log

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

i am facing a logging issue related to our CRM 2011 emailrouter. Everyday the IIS on our application server produces a log-file with a size of 180mb+. Most of the logged activities contain this information "POST /...myDeployment/XrmServices/2011/Organization.svc+OnBeginRequest:09/02/2015-13:06:33.756+SdkB(BackgroundSendEmail:4202):13:06:33.756

+SdkE:13:06:33.756+LogEntries:0+SDKSqlCalls:1+SDKSqlCallsMs:0+GC:1+LogEntries:0

+SqlCalls:0+SqlCallsMs:0+GC:1+OnEndRequest:13:06:33.756". It seems like our crmemailrouter tries to execute about 20 of these sending-requests per second. Considering our crm-system barely generates about 30 mails an hour i can't explain why our system logs this amount of entries in the IIS-log. Currently we have disabled the IIS-logging so our harddrives won't get overloaded but we need to understand the reason for this issue.

Has anybody faced a similar behaviour of the crmemailrouter and knows a solution to this issue?

Best regards

Laurent Barthels

    Hello,

CRM Email Router normally logs either in the Event Log or in the Log file if we configure in the 'Microsoft.Crm.Tools.EmailAgent.xml' file.

Check whether you have configured any SDK calls to send Background Emails or Bulk Email Activities which could have been filling the IIS Logs.

    Hello Mr. Barthels,

i think it´s here not about an unusual work of CRM Email Router. It´s communicating with the webserver and that´s why you´re finding info in the web server log.

The better question is in this case: Why is it communicating so much?

You should have a look in your user configuration and your mail router communication. Please be also aware that could be an inbound way to CRM as well as an outbound way from CRM to mail. There can be lost mails in CRM as well as in the mailboxes the router is working against.

Furthermore, in email router is a configuration how often the email router is polling for new mails to process in your email system or in CRM. Maybe this configuration is not optimal according to your needs.
