how to consume a web service from javascript web ressource !!

This may cause a permission issue though (cross-domain etc). If it does, a workaround would be to make that call from a plugin and, instead of making a call to the web service directly, do it through the plugin (for example, it could be a "retrieve" plugin, so it might even add service response to a hidden field on the form)
