What Task ID do you set to access the Item Engineering Data screen?

I saw an earlier post regarding the debugging tool and have requested that my partner download it for me, but while waiting, can anyone give an answer so I can get my user up and running?  I can't wait to get my hands on a tool to answer these type issues myself - thanks much!!

It is certainly a helpful tool for questions such as this.  I looked it up on my local install and see that if you have access to the "CARD_MFG_IV" task (part of "MFG Admin" role by default), you will have access to the Item Engineering Data window.

David - wouldn't giving them access to "Card" anything give them the ability to update?  We just want them to view the screen.    Thanks!  (and I downloaded and installed the support debugger tool - but have not figured out how it helps yet - nothing that shows in the security profiler ties to the tasks (that I can see).

Jeanne, there doesn't appear to be an Inquiry window for Item Engineering Data.  The Card is the only place you can see this information.

    Jeanne,

With Security Profiler open, open the Item Engineering Data window.  You should see a line appear in the Security Profiler indicating the Dictionary and Resource ID of the window you just opened (mine shows 346 and 22035, respectively, when opening the Item Engineering window).

Once you see that line appear, click on it, then click the Security button in the toolbar at the top of the Security Profiler window.  This opens the Security Information window for this resource.  You will see a tree view in the left hand pane.

The first node displays how the current user has access to the window.  If you expand down the levels, you'll get to a point where you can see the Security Roles that granted you access to this window.  What you want, however, is under the second node.  Expand the second node of the tree view (the one that says "System Level") and you will see the various Security Roles that exist in the system that grant access to this window.

    Hope this helps,

    David
