Automatic creation of planned order based on BOM

Is there a configuration that I can turn to create the planned orders based on BOM upon executing the master planning?  On my testing, the planned orders for BOM will create automatically upon firming the planned orders.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi MsAxapta,

can you please give us more details of what you want to do?

    Thanks

Currently, when I run master planning, planned orders get created based according to the requirement of my sales orders and inventory. Then, when I firmed it, that’s the only time the planned orders for BOM get created for those parts that do not have an inventory.

I am looking for a way wherein planned orders during firming will also be created after running the master planning. Thanks!

    Hi MsAxapta

Can you please share the screen print of your master plan to check the configuration.

Please ensure the forecast plan is selected in master plans Setup 》 Plans 》 Master plans.  Also make sure "include demand forecast" flag is turn on master plan setup.

Did you enter the demand forecast of your main parent item?

BOM alone cannot trigger demand, however work around is to create sales order for this BOM or production order to create demand. Then MRP run will generate demand base on site setup. Allocate location or warehouse  for these orders to avoid inventory check.

Hello Junaid, thank you for suggesting. However, this is already activated in the master plan I am using.

I have already created the sales order for the demand. The production orders have already been created based on the demand from sales order. I am checking if there's a way that the parts or bills of materials I will be needing in order to manufacture the production order will also get created upon executing the master planning or at the same time the planned orders will be created based on the demand from sales order. Currently,  planned orders  get created on the bills of materials needed for production order when I firmed the production order. It's checking the inventory if the bills of materials are sufficient in order to manufacture the device. If not, then, it will create the planned purchase or production orders automatically.

    Hi MSAxapta,

Check the explosion time fence and the coverage time fence in the coverage group assigned to the raw materials.

    Regards

    Hello

STD MRP functionality explodes the requirements for each planned production order ( or batch order).

Based on your issue , it sounds like the MRP is not exploding the requirements for your formula items.

Please check the coverage group used by the MRP for your SKUs and make sure the number of days on the field explosion has a certain number of days to cover your demand.

If the settings on the field  explosion is correct , check the plan you are using and make sure there is no flag ticked  on the field explosion with zero value.

For this scenario, BOM components should of pegged supply in order to work.
