Can i add an unlisted product to a PO through purchase categories ?

Hello all, 

Can I add a non-listed product to a purchase order in Dynamics AX ? I need to add a product only through the procurement category description but do not want to select a listed item and need open text for the same. Is it possible ? 

From What i have observed the unlisted product option is only available in RFQ and Purchase requisition process whereas the purchase order you need a listed item.

    Found the feature to be working on D365 and you can create the Purchase orders without having a listed item through category.

    Hello,

    If i get you well, you want to make a PO without choosing an item, but you want to choose product category, right?

    From experience in AX this feature is not available and might require lot of customization if you want to enable such functionality.

    Can you also explain why do you want to achieve this? what business process does your company follow.
