Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Archived)

Unable to access Developer resources in CRM

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

Just signed up for Dynamics 365 CRM and need to test connection to the tables via another application.

I need the Unique Organization ID and every article says go to settings, customization, Developer Resources.  I am embarrassed to admit I can't seem to find Settings that has Customization.  This is what I see - is it because I am on a free trial?

Go to settings -> security -> users.

Select your users and in the ribbon, click promote to admin.

When you are a global admin in Office365, you're not automatically assigned a rol in CRM. You need to do that seperatly to do any work in CRM.

Next to that, make sure you also have a license assigned to your user.

    hi dude,

It seems that u didn't the complete the set up properly .

For unique organisation ID : you will be asked to set up while you are signing up.

Free Trail has complete set of Entities with all the customization options(under Settings) that you are looking for and other things.

    just signing up again. ;-)

    Hi J8kstur,

Have you signed up for Learning Path as part of your free trial?  If so, it will restrict the options you can see at first as it takes you through the training exercises.  I think you can turn it off by clicking on the "Settings" cog at the top right of your screen, then clicking "Opt out of Learning Path".  If you do this then refresh your browser you should see all of the options available.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

Go to the Advanced Find (Funnel like shape on the black navigation bar)>>look for users>>click results>>double click your user>>under admin tab>>change access mode to read-write.

You wont be able to change yourself, you will have to create another global admin for a while or ask any other CRM user (System Admin), who can do it on your behalf. Basically, you cant change your own permissions.

You will see customization if your role is either system customizer or  system administrator

    Hi,

Which license type do you subscribe with? I believe the entry level license doesn't allow customizations and it may even restrict API access but I haven't heard that.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
