How do I create a business alert to notify a user when a transaction gets posted to a specific GL account?

Thanks!

    RE: Business alert

    This can be done via Setup>System>Business Alerts in GP.

    1. You will require 2 tables (Year to date open a.k.a GL20000 and Account Index Master a.k.a GL00105).
    2. Pick Actindx to join these tables.
    3. And in the business alert formula pick the Account Index Master column named Account Number String-
    4. add "=" operator and type the full GL code in the constant box and add.
    5. You should see the syntax as GL00105_t2.ACTNUMST = your GL code in the bottom.
    6. Add a datetime field filter (pick dex_Row_ts >= getutcdate()-1 and dex_Row_ts < getutcdate +1
    7. Click next and complete the notification section of the wizard as needed such as send an email

    A business alert created this way will be added to the SQL Agent jobs. Be mentally prepared to be questioned by the DBA if and when he/she sees a new SQL Agent job added to the server.
