In Dynamics 365
Workflow stopped from posting for Exp Journal - Company xxx. with error "Stopped (error): Auto posting failed. Manually post the transaction to get details on what failed. Project stage Finished does not allow recording in this project. Project stage Finished does not allow recording in this project."

I checked the project setup. Project is in process and it allows to capture transactions. All the financial dimensions are populated and period is open

Hi Anubha,

Did you already check the suggestion from Ludwig to check if manual posting will be successful or not? If it fails again, you will be probably getting a better error message.

Hi Ludwig,,

I checked the parameters. - Project management and accounting parameters > Set up project journal names and validation and timesheet information

None of the chekbox is marked . And this is expense Journal.

Hi Anubha,

I refer to the project stage.

Depending on how you have set them up, some stages do not allow you recording transactions.

Can you check this stage field?

Is it possible that the project was on hold when you submitted it to the workflow? Have you tried posting the transaction manually as indicated in the message?
