Hi Community.

I wanted to embark on a journey of building something native inside D365. I was under the impression you can now build a UDE for development through PP, but have recently seen something that suggest you can't and you have to deploy it through LCS and it will cost to have it running? Can so embody clarify this for me please
I have seen a few videos on setup but is this for a different purpose the power platform environment?

Thank you all

You can deploy a F&O UDE environment straight to Power Platform without the need for LCS, however you will need licenses and therefore capacity available to be able to do it.

That sounds good, that is what i am trying to do I have deployed a "Sandbox" as i believe i have the rights to do this etc. However Im having issues. I initially created tables menus etc as a play around, but when sync it suggested i had no installed something to allow sync and would need a new environment so i deplyed again and now i cant find an application version(see pic) on the Connect metadata. Is there any genuine documentation to guide me through this i find the articles online I have found to now help with troubleshooting.

Also i think i know the answer but is there an easy way to telll if i have deployed this correctly from PP as a UDE?

You may be interested in the official documentation, such as Tutorial: Provision a new environment with an ERP-based template.

Take a look here, you will be missing the Dev tools which distinguish a UDE from a Sandbox in PP.

I find the Powershell script the easier method, but there are admin centre steps if you prefer them.

There is also some reading here if you need it:

Thank you for the links i have followed the Powershell commands, I am hoping this will help deploy a UDE environment where i can connect to VS2022 with X++ support to create something not an app? its not made to be clear is it :D

I had been deploying from Power paltform manage screen, I was originally connected to meta etc and have created some of what i want already but thats went sour and now i cannot so ive removed something along the way i guess. Hopfuly those commands have helped resolve issues.

Appreciate all the feedback so far.
