Return from Project U of M Error

Good Afternoon,

I am unable to return from Project inventory items window.  I receive the error that this U of M does not exist on U of M schedule.  I have reviewed the Unit of Measure Schedule Setup andUnit-of-Measure-issue-returning-part.PNGUnit-of-Measure-setup.PNG the UM is Each and when I put in a purchase order it pulls Each as the unit of measure.  The word Each is not being recognized when trying to process the return from project.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sherry

The unit of measure "each" on the Returns From Project Entry window is different from the unit of measure "Each" on the Unit of Measure Schedule Setup window on the Item card. You will need to remove the line, then re-add with the correct spelling for the unit of measure. You can also use the lookup button next to the Item prompt on the window to prevent any data entry errors.

    Thanks for your help Mariano,

I wish it was that simple.  I think there is data corruption.   I have tried every way to spell it including Each and it still errors out.  It also will not allow me to select the unit of measure through the lookup button.  When you click on the lookup it doesn’t open.  All other lookups work.  Is there a check link I can run?

    Sherry,

The UofM that you see in the Inventory is not the same as the one that you can lookup from the PA Returns Entry..  What you see in INV is the UofM-ScheduleID.... there is maintenance table for the UoM for purchasing, which is typically used by PA.

Use the Unit of Measure Schedule Setup window to define the units of measure used to measure your inventory quantities, and to define the relationships between different units of measure. For example, a company that sells canned soft drinks might set up an Each unit of measure, a Six-pack unit of measure and a Case unit of measure. With the Unit of Measure Schedule Setup window, you can show how these quantities are related. (Six Eachs equals one Six-pack; four Six-packs equal one Case, and so on.)

Each <> each.. not just because of the way it's written, but because someone decided to make it more confusing in the UoM Schedule ID setup.
