Problem after updating the shared reports.dic file path in dynamic.set file in client machine

Hi All, We have upgraded from GP 10.0 to GP 2015 R2 and then we applied SP1 on prod server.

Also, we installed GP client on our client machines and when i updated the dynamics.set file with network drive location which contains the shared report.dic file and launched the GP shortcut, then i have got a message as in below screen.

Then i went to GP utilities and went to till "upgrade modified forms and report" in the additional tasks window and then clicked on process and then selected the previous dynamics.dic file and then below is the error that i got.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue.?

And both the server and client machines are at the same version of GP.

    Hi Aravind,

I don't know if you have access to this forum post : www.gpug.com/.../viewthread;MID=12477&tab=digestviewer

but in case you don't, it refers to another blog post on the Dynamics Community from a Microsoft support engineer :

    community.dynamics.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-gp-2013-r2-new-feature-blog-series-schedule

The topic is repeated almost for every major GP upgrade, but in this one there is  a link to a video that shows the detailed steps when it comes to upgrade your custom dictionaries.

Also, my 2cts on this one.. Your screen captures are showing network drive letters.. I'd strongly advise against this practice and rather provide full URL's to point to shared dictionaries.. You never know when a drive letter can become unavailable to a user..

    i.e. \\YourGPserver\SharedDicFolder\reports.dic

This way you're never going to run into troubles.

Remember that for security purposes, your shared GP dictionaries should always be put in a dedicated place.. never share them out of the GP program folder on the server... this is a very bad practice and a huge security concern.
