Updating two columns from spreadsheet

Posted on by 95

Hi All,

I am trying to update two columns in an entity that match on a column in a spreadsheet. My problem is that there are more rows than I want in the spreadsheet and the job will import those rows. I just want to update the rows that already exist in my entity.

I have tried using PowerAutomate but the job runs for 3 hours and also has a limit of 5000 with rows and does not seem reliable. Tried using Azure Data Factory but dataflows are not supported for Dyanmics(Dataverse). Any ideas how I can do this?

    Hi,

You can export all the rows of your entity as excel/csv file and store it in Azure Blob Storage. Then you can inner join your spreadsheet and output to your Azure Blob Storage.

Finally, copy the output file to your dataverse.

I have a spreadsheet that is exported from another system daily. I want to then have a job that will list all the dataverse rows that match on a column with the spreadsheet and then update two columns within dataverse from the spreadsheet.

Could you provide some more info?  When you say "match on a column" is there a single value that you're trying to filter on? Or is it more of a vlookup/primary key situation?
