The only way would be through a custom plugin that essentially does an end run around it but you would then need to recreate all the relationships that the activity table has and do a lot of testing to make sure you haven't broken anything.  That would be a LOT of work.

    Hi,

you can create a custome Entity with define it as an activity

That won't add it to the standard choice list for the activitytypecode.  Unless you create a custom plugin that forces it.  Hence, somewhat pointless.

    I second Osama's answer.

When you create an entity as an activity entity, it is added to the activity type picklist.

Well, apparently you gents have special environments because I tried it in my freshly reset SBX and a new activity type table does not get added to the OOTB option set referenced in Katie's initial post.

    Hi,

Let's create a new entity of activity type "Some Activity":

Let see what we got in the Activity Type column:

    Wahaj,

Thanks for the screenshots.  They prompted me to investigate further and I found something interesting; if I create from the legacy customizations experience (as your screenshots depict) the activity does get added and is visible and selectable anywhere Activities show up.  If I create from the maker portal as a new table, it shows up in the option set (Choices>Activity Type) but does NOT show up in the UI (ex. when I go to Sales App>My Work>Activities>Activity Type drop down).

So, that's an interesting learning for me!

Katie, apparently all you need to do to make sure it shows up is create in the legacy experience and you're good to go.  My apologies for causing confusion for you.
