I am trying to connect IOT device to Connected Field Service for a demo purpose in a trial account. We did the following: 1) Installed Field Service solution 8.5 in a trial CRM subscription tenant. 2) Configure a trial Azure subscription 3) Configured "Connected Field Service" (from AppSource) and connected to IOT hub 4) Authenticated the corresponding API service in Azure subscription. 5) Now Successfully able to create "Customer Asset" record 6) After that while registering the Customer asset (in step 5), we are facing error. The error message is "An error occurred performing the action. Please try again later." 7) As a result the device is not appearing in the simulator.
FYI the updated template installer is now available at aka.ms/iotcentralpowerbisolutiontemplate
This is a known issue and a broader fix for it will be made available soon. In the meantime you can manually register the device: Go to your IoT Hub in the Azure portal. Under IoT Devices, create it manually, the DEVICE ID in IoT Hub maps to the Device ID in D365.
Alternatively you can also create a support ticket and our engineers can mitigate this issue for you
