Multi-step file upload in Dynamics CRM Portals

Hi folks,

New to this forum so apologies if I am treading on all the rules. I have a question around Dynamics Portals and if there are some file upload limitations.

What I have

I have a web-form with around 11 steps, each step loads a separate tab of an entity form. Within the entity form there are 4 tabs named FU1, FU2, FU3 and FU4 (FU = File Upload). When these tabs are loaded within the web-form there is the option to upload a file. A user would then go in an upload a file and then proceed to the next step.

The Issue

It appears that if I have a single step with the file upload the user is able to see the notes in the last step (configured by loading the form as the last step) however when I have multiple steps each uploading a file (note) the notes field is blank both within the web-form and within the entity.

Thanks for any help,

Jay

    Hello,

Can you please explain it more about which entity form you are using and how you are using file upload?

According to my experience in web form you can create a custom control for this

    Hi Jagmohan,

I'm not using an entity form, I'm using a web form. The web form loads tabs from a form created on the entity (as in where you would enter data if you were doing it within CRM as appose to portals).

My web form is made up of ~10 steps where 3 of these steps require a file upload.

    1 - User Input

    2 - User Input

    3 - User Input

    4 - User Input

    5 - User Input

    6 - File Upload

    7 - File Upload

    8 - File Upload

    9 - User Input

    10 - User Input

Within the final step (step 10) all tabs are loaded where the notes field is visible.

If I had only a single file upload the attached files would show at this stage however having more than one file upload yields no results.

    Thanks,

    Jay

Please check in CRM before moving to the final step, whether you are having all the files attached in Notes? So we can check wether the issue is at last step or somewhere else?

    Thanks

So I've checked at each step and it appears that the documents aren't being attached as notes. What's interesting is that if we allow anonymous access to the form these users can upload a file. The admin account can't.

It's interesting. With this behaviour seems a permission issue.

Please make sure you have created an Entity Permission (Read Privilege) for Note Entity and associated Authenticated Web Roles with that? Also, Enable the Entity Permission checkbox on your web form steps?
